Sunshine's Little Ray of Light is a Nonprofit Organized Group based out of Atlanta, Georgia that is operated by Candle's Korner. Our mission is to provide Candles for people that are affected by loss of power/electricity caused by severe disastrous weather and storms.

What is Disastrous Weather?
Disastrous Weather is severe weather that is classified as a series of events that can cause destructive or deadly effects on the ground. It encompasses hurricanes, tornadoes, thunderstorms, and blizzards. Based on the category level of the storm, some people are left without any use of electricity.
Hurricanes
A hurricane is a tropical storm with sustained winds of at least 74 miles per hour. Hurricanes are also known as tropical cyclones and are characterized by a rotating system of clouds and thunderstorms that originates over tropical or subtropical waters. They can be over 400 miles wide and have an eye that is usually 20–30 miles wide. Hurricanes are dangerous storms that can cause torrential rains, high winds, storm surges, and tornadoes.
Tornadoes
Tornadoes are violently rotating columns of air, extending from a thunderstorm, which are in contact with the ground. Tornadoes develop when wind variations with height support rotation in the updraft. As seen below, tornadoes come in different sizes, many as narrow rope-like swirls, others as wide funnels.
Thunderstorms
A thunderstorm, also known as an electrical storm or a lightning storm, is a storm characterized by the presence of lightning and its acoustic effect on the Earth's atmosphere, known as thunder. Relatively weak thunderstorms are sometimes called thundershowers.
Blizzards
A blizzard is a severe snowstorm characterized by strong sustained winds and low visibility, lasting for a prolonged period of time—typically at least three or four hours. A ground blizzard is a weather condition where snow is not falling but loose snow on the ground is lifted and blown by strong winds.
Each one of these severe weather events can cause hazardous and disastrous conditions in the areas they impact. Leaving the communities affected with little to no electricity or relief.

Sunshine's Little Ray of Light is an organized group that was created to help supply candles to areas that were affected by severely disastrous weather. The conditions that some of these storms left behind had a catastrophic effect on many without electricity.
Our mission is to supply 4 candles per request. We cover the cost of shipping and handling. We do not receive any grants, we run solely on Donations from the public.

In order to receive emergency candles, you will need to fill out the box below. Please be sure to write your address in the comment section of the box. Make sure it is an address that can receive mail delivery. We can send to any organization you would like to pick them up from as well.
